Welcome
The Land Drainage Authority is a parastatal body which contributes to mitigate the risks of flooding in Mauritius and Rodrigues.

About LDA
The LDA is a public institution created in 2018 to enhance the coordination and efficiency in managing rainwater and controling runoff to limit the risks of flooding in the Mauritian and Rodrigues territories.
The LDA works closely with the relevant stakeholders including the National Development Unit (NDU), Local Authorities and the Road Development Authority (RDA) to adapt to the rapid and profound changes in the environment.
As per the LDA’s mandate, the Land Drainage Authority is committed to raise awareness and sensitise our Mauritian population to the risks of flooding and to propose mitigations measures to build resilience against flooding in the context of climate change.
Our Projects
Aim at increasing the resilience of the Republic of Mauritius against flooding through an effective and efficient land drainage system while taking into account socioeconomic factors.
